Tonight temps are forecast to widely fall well below zero and this could be the start of a long cold snap. We will be conducting a full run of the county's precautionary salting network at midnight tonight. This will help combat the risk of a hard frost well into the morning.

Due to a sudden change in the forecast our gritting teams countywide are loading now, preparing to treat key routes. Take care though, even on gritted surfaces as ice/frost can still occur. We will be doing a second run at 03:00 to help combat this risk.
