40 years on, solidarity is as strong as ever with Lesbians and Gays Support the Migrants in the Electric Ballroom - what an inspiring night

In chronological order, my first talk is at 11:30 on June 27th, talking about my experience of mediating between de-platformed users and platforms - aka what I was doing during last yearβs Global Digital Cultures as Meta deleted swathes of accounts from the London kink & SW community overnight.

Next up, Iβm on a roundtable on SW research methods on June 28th at 9:30 with the amazing hanne stegeman Dr Lilith Brouwers and Cllr Max Morris πͺπΌ canβt wait to join this dream team!

And last but not least, at 2pm on June 28th I will be joining my academic soulmate Tom Divon | ΨͺΩΩ Ψ―ΩΩΩΩ | ΧͺΧΧ ΧΧΧΧΧ as we present findings on gaslighting as a platform comms strategy from the paper we co-wrote with Pam Briggs for the first time. Bring it on πͺπΌ

And here I am failing to tag my academic besties π«£ Our chair was the brilliant hanne stegeman, best dressed academic goes to Dr Carolina Are ππ» bloggeronpole, and I'm so thankful that Cllr Max Morris could join us online and share so many insights. Next year we do a 4hr panel?

had the absolute best time on this considerate, caring and reflexive panel on methodologies in research related to sw could discuss institutional barriers, the difficulty of labeling and joy of trust building with Dr Lilith Brouwers Cllr Max Morris Dr Carolina Are ππ» bloggeronpole forever ππ

SW researcher roundtable from this morn, chaired by the brill hanne stegeman with the iconic Dr Lilith Brouwers & Cllr Max Morris. We could have talked forever, but I learnt so much about paying anonymous participants, labelling & being mindful of culture in method design π #GDC_UVA24

Such a pleasure to be there for Hanne's defense and hear her do well enough to receive her doctorate Cum Laude - a testament to her hard work and brilliant thesis. I'm so proud of you hanne stegeman!

I am extremely excited that (after a series of unbelievable misfortunes) The Scarlett Letters Bookshop will not only be opening in East London, but Florence from the Vagina Museum will be running a fantastic event there! Can't wait to learn (and buy a stack of books) outsavvy.com/event/23605/v-β¦
