2023: Record nesting season on Spanish coasts During the 2023 season, Spain has recorded a significant increase in the number of loggerhead turtle nesting events on its beaches. This summer, a total of 27 nests have been counted distributed in various coastal regions.

Thanks to the agreement signed between Legambiente and the Lifeguard Section of FIN, the Italian Swimming Federation, nearly 5,000 lifeguards have been trained to strengthen conservation, monitoring, outreach and awareness actions on sea turtles.
