Very glad to get a copy of Michelle Bogre's new edition of Photography as Activism. I contributed an interview to it about what, grand claims aside, I think photographs might do in the world.

Urban full moon nights.

PhD days. A seesaw between seductive new ideas and the slog of just trying to get things done. Also the suprise of being brought back around to things on the shelf I haven't read in years, or moments when one idea references another which had previously felt poles apart.

I just taught my last class before hanging these up for a bit, I’m taking unpaid leave from teaching @lcclondonphoto so I can have a breather after 10+ years of doing it, and particularly so I can recharge myself after a particularly rough few years since the pandemic.

Rewatched Night of the Hunter after reading Grubb's novel. I'd forgotten the total brilliance of Lillian Gish in it, able to transform her character in a second from a twinkly eyed foster mother, to someone who points a gun and looks like she means to use it.

Off goes my exhibition to tour around Europe for the next 2+ years. An Infinitely Dark Legacy starts at @hhu_de Dusseldorf on April 25th with an opening and panel discussion, and is open the following night for the city's Night of the Museums. 🌈 🚀

An Infinitely Dark Legacy continues at @hausderuniversitaet @hhu_de Dusseldorf untill June 2nd. The exhibition will be touring Europe for the next two years, stay tuned for future dates and locations.

Excited that @colourcolliders brilliant exhibition Popcorn! is now open @whitechapelgallery untill September 21st 2025. Pretty perfect if you want to see some art that kids can also get involved in over the summer break.

Gear interlude, I've been messing around with a Fuji GFX100S recently. I'm considering defecting, especially since I discovered what a joy my old manual Mamiya lenses are to use on them. I knew I held on to that 80/1.9 for a reason...
