I unironically, unashamedly and unapologetically love Britain's Got Talent. Been a tough weekend in our house and BGT came back just at the right moment. Brings my whole family together and is joyful. I have happy tears in my eyes once every episode. May it last forever.

Healing power of shared experiences. One of our dogs, Clarence, passed on Friday. Family devastated but we're sticking together. We enjoyed BGT last night, I did an F1 breakfast today (well done Red Bull) then the Marathon. Really helps to have something to come together around.

interesting curiosity of that penalty shoot-out was the ball going into the crowd and everyone waiting until it was given back. in NFL and MLB balls are frequently thrown into the crowd and fans keep them. just interesting that in ⚽️ there is no culture of fans keeping them

'I sent a message through the internet but it rejected.'

Is there an earlier reference to the internet in a pop song than this from 1998?

As someone who just yesterday went to a football game with my 20-year-old daughter, it's inconceivable that similar families went to a match 35 years ago and never came home. Thoughts with everyone impacted, on this date.

The journalistic equivalent of Messi or Ronaldo being on the market. Wishing the great Henry Winter congrats on a stellar eight years at The Times and good luck with whatever is next. Having been lucky enough to work with Henry a bit, one of the good guys.

It's funny to see brands using hashtags in their TV commercials in 2024. Nobody was ever going to use your corporate hashtag even when hashtags were a thing which now they barely are. Very 2012 vibes.
