Liverpool have bolstered their first-team/academy set-up by adding Diogo Paiva from FC Porto who will act under the role of technical skills coach. Paiva actually worked alongside Vitor Matos at Shandong Luneng in China and FC Porto.

LFC U21 player Kyle Kelly (18) played 63 minutes in his third cap for ST Kitts and Nevis who romped to a 4-1 win over Cayman Island. Brilliant to see academy representation all over the globe, especially at senior level. Kelly was busy, taking 4 shots and completing 3 dribbles.

Nice small update but the official club site has FINALLY updated the academy page to include profiles of the new first-year scholars, although without Rio Ngumoha and Alvin Ayman.

Trey Nyoni scoring again for England U18. That’s 2 in 2 this international break and he does seem to get on the scoresheet a pleasing amount of times. But that doesn’t barely cover what he does best. Great player.

Lewis Koumas starts for Wales. This isn’t just a friendly or anything like that. This is an important match and Koumas has minutes because he can contribute at this level. His rise through the ranks has been brilliant.

Direct goal contribution. This doesn’t even go as far as scratching moments like the pass through to Eze. Don’t really fawn over players but he’s magic. I’ve rarely seen a player who can influence an attack from any area. Give him the ball on his own corner flag, he’ll find you.
