Lewes crews flood and water technicians this morning took the opportunity of the high flow to undertake some local risk based training. This enables the team to prepare for incidents, learn how the water changes during tidal changes and hone newly learnt enhanced skills.

EXERCISE NOTIFICATION. this evening teams from Lewes, Seaford & Barcombe, with observers from Sussex Search & Rescue are undertaking an exercise at Barcombe mills. We train at venues like this as approximately 65% of water fatalities occur within inland waters (figure taken from ROSPA 2021)
