Striking pink histiocytes (Hansemann histiocytes). This case had relatively few Michaelis-Gutman bodies. Where present, they were more homogenous & lacked the textbook concentric/targetoid 🎯 pattern. Von Kossa staining highlights them better, confirming malakoplakia.

Old age male, smoker, with parotid mass, FNA (Milan IV A, Warthin), intra-parotid LN shows this findings, if you ask for one IHC, what would be?!

5️⃣ Rare mimics exist but don’t be fooled "Auer-rod-like" crystals can occasionally appear in B-cell lymphomas or myeloma. But: they’re MPO-negative, SBB-negative and biochemically different. Every case ends up a curiosity report. Ref: doi.org/10.1002/jha2.8…

Shamelessly, what am I thinking, but this is a bladder biopsy in a patient without a precedent diagnosis. What is the immunostain?

CC369. 70/F. Painful FNA of a subcutaneous lesion on the ventral aspect of the left wrist. It is a fusiform lesion that is in the tendon plane. Radiologists suggest a tendon or neural tumor. The patient has an interesting history, and a scar on the contralateral wrist Kalyani Bambal

Pathologists! What do you think of this inguinal lymph node removed at the time of hernia repair in a young man? What is the CD10+ population outside follicles? Note that CD10 is stronger than in germinal centers. Hint: they are not granulocytes. #hemepath #lymphnodes

Gastric MALTOMA with sheets of Russel bodies PCs, almost mimicking Russel body gastritis. Note how it mimics the normal Peyer patches with a secondary reactive follicle - GC in red, mantle zone in orange, marginal zone in aqua and the plasma cells in green.
