This morning, I was pleased to join Governor Jim Pillen and many other state and university leaders at UNL’s Innovation Campus, as Gov. Pillen signed the Ag Week Proclamation. It was great to visit with Nebraska FFA members about innovation in agriculture in Nebraska.

I had a great conversation this afternoon with Air Force ROTC cadet Elena Burgwald, a junior from Sioux Falls, S.D., and the Voice of the Huskers, Greg Sharpe. Elena is the 2024 flyover coordinator, leading the team that directs incoming aircraft for pregame flyovers.

The research conducted by University of Nebraska-Lincoln in agriculture and natural resources is so important to our state’s present and future. It was my pleasure to spend time this Fall Break connecting with alumni and farmers to learn more about how to connect our work to their success.
