These orders are becoming more prevalent in South Asia. Our goal, while we work on the ground, is developing models which include being proactive, tech and above strong communication so that life can be preserved on both sides in the human- big cat coexistence challenge.

For the Early Learner's Classes we build documentaries and slide shows which tell the truth about what is happening to #wildlife worldwide. We also give them hope by explaining solutions. These kids, as young as 6, take it in, they nod their heads in determination. #education

All aspects of our work are part of symbiotic relationships within the project. Here Nirajan places a camera in a high conflict area, this helps protect people (real time transmission) thus protecting a tiger from retaliation. We then explain these aspects at the kid's classes.

Update soon as we work on serious human-leopard conflict situation in a remote area. High level of risk, a normal school roll of 150 is down to less than 50 due to fear of situation, putting school's future in doubt. Some children walk 90 min each way through thick, steep jungle

This particular project, to help over 150 kids be safe in a difficult jungle area is getting our focus as it can be a platform for other highly affected areas. Reduce conflict and then tolerance increases, retaliation decreases.

Technology, forensics but most of all communication are keys to conflict mitigation. Coexistence with big cats is vital in so many ways, it's never going to be totally without incident but we can reduce conflict with effort and support. We have the tools to do that.

A lot going on at the moment, we'll have an update on our work in mid March. The new guidelines for coexistence (in Nepali language) with big cats are now being distributed to key areas in collaboration with orgs we work alongside.

Yesterday marked 10 weeks since the last human fatality in conflict with big cats in Bardia/Banke/Kata zone, a woman killed by leopard. We're monitoring that area heavily. Wildlife behavior due to anthropological pressures is ever changing, we have to adjust ours. Update soon.
