Round and About Walks - Bishops Castle & Clun

Historian, poet and former librarian Peter Holliday has died aged 82. Peter was celebrated for his illustrated talks and was a stalwart of a number of local organisations. A memorial service will be held at Leominster Priory Church on Friday May 31st at 12 noon. All welcome.

It seems puzzling that the government said that financial pressures meant they had to axe the winter fuel payment for millions of pensioners, but the number of civil servants on over £100,000 a year has risen by over 40%. Can anyone explain this?

We popped into Central Bakery recently and heard that they are to close in the near future. We understand that the coffee shop will close in a few weeks, and the bakery shop at the end of September. This feels very sad, particularly after so many years in the town.
