Definitely true, but in most any small and medium city, building family friendly infill housing is literally as simple as legalizing townhouses on every lot and they’ll get built. For high rise it’s a little harder. Needs building code reform and maybe some incentives

And the bad things that planners are trying to stop from happening are mostly things like 1. Shadows 2. A bar having not enough parking 3. Siding being too blue 4. Housing
