75 yrs ago today. FIRST GAME IN NBA HISTORY. Oct. 29, 1949 “Hawks, Nuggets Set To Inaugurate New League” That was the headline of Tri-Cities Blackhawks Vs. old Denver Nuggets. Hawks came out on top 93-85. Game took place at the Wharton Fieldhouse in Moline. 3,450 in attendance.
