Early this morning the RPU assisted National Highways: East Midlands with a HGV driving erratically on the M1. The driver was found to be over the limit for alcohol (2.3 times the legal limit), charged and remanded to court today - banned for 20month and fined. #Fatal4 #RPU 1977

A busy day for #Bshift #RPU. A fantastic "policeman's nose" moment this afternoon led to some amazing teamwork in a pursuit and all resulting in baddies being arrested!! A great example of "you can run but you can't hide" and us depriving criminals the use of the roads! 👍🏻😃 332

This morning one of our #SCIU sergeants stopped a van containing a large shipment of "coke"!! Fortunately it was Coca Cola, but the van was 45% over its maximum plated vehicle weight!! RPU issued a hefty fine to the driver & load transfered into another van! #teamwork 👍🏻 332

Leics Police Drone Team supported by the RPU deployed to a Missing Child earlier today. Within minutes of launching the Child was located by the Drone and safely re-united with parents. #PoliceDrones #OneTeam 1977

Yesterday a member of the #Drone team and an #RPU pilot attended a report of a missing 4 year old boy. We launched the Drone and found the little chap in less than 2 minutes!! Once located on our cameras, we talked ground units in to his location. 🙂 #result #teamwork 332/622

#RPU were involved in a pursuit with a vehicle in Leicestershire after a spree of Op Pioneer (tool theft from van) offences. Vehicle found abandoned but full of suspected stolen tools. Enquiries are now ongoing to identify victims. #OpPioneer #runbutyoucanthide #yousaidwedid 👍🏻

We know you like cars! Did you know that we have two response level vehicles on our fleet? These are used for our Leicestershire Police Specials on our Safer Roads Team as well as new starters to the RPU! This capability increases our ability to attend incidents and keep the roads safe 🚨
