The most pressing thing here is that this is calling anti-genocide protestors violent in order to justify their repression. That's reprehensible. Also, 'this isn’t a moment for politics' is one of the main ways Biden and company carry out a brutal form of politics.

I cannot emphasize enough that this is the express result of Biden announcing open season on Palestine protestors, i.e. the federal Department of Education will not protect their civil rights. Perhaps the most consequential act of his presidency in higher ed policy.
