The matrix supplied in the more recent LTEM manual in session 3 or 4 ? on lamb survival in relation to CS, FOO,preg status , windchill index and impacts on survival is such a cracking piece of info that highlights much of our conversations. Andrew Thompson Le Angelo

Finished scanning Thursday. To keep things real we only talk com sheep with no fluff. Under 1000-Orange tags that all lambed as ewe lms in Aug 19(dries lms sold) had 0 %zero dries @ 1.83 foetus per ewe for 2020 .That’s potential 2.8 lms per ewe wnd Av under 28 mths

Your Numnuts Device is a bit like a cold #beer 🍺, best served upright! 😉. I’ve been working on an DIY #numnuts #holder. Takes 5mins to make from x500 #elastrator #ring tub. Can also glue base to magnetic bowl so it sticks oil drum #lambing2020 #lambmarking #painrelief #holder

Used #numnuts for the first time today. Very happy with how it works. And there was a noticeable difference in the castrated lambs. They ran back to their mothers and back to the paddock much happier than previous years #ethicalfarming #lambs

Robin I think we have seen a reduction in the post lamb marking mort but they are very few . It is blatantly obvious was that it was always overwhelmingly wether lms. 80% plus. Numnuts is now standard procedure for all lms in our business.👍 #numnuts #precisionlambing

Tim Leeming Hi Robin Robin Smith this could be totally unrelated, I think there’s a trend in research datasets for male lambs to have higher mortality at birth than females, check with Andrew Thompson , not sure if your chasing the additive impact of castration, or male/female death rate

Twins vary from 7 to 11/ Ha depending of FOO or whether reusing paddock for next cycle and mobs at approx 50.Singles don’t matter re mismothering and triplets as smaller mob size as practical

Tim Leeming (@paradooprime) 's Twitter Profile Photo

we are very much looking forward to processing our triplets in the morning.all lambed in fenced off riparian zones. Left alone for the whole lambing with no intervention. Official results tomorrow #precisionlambing

These lambs are 12 weeks old and haven’t seen Mum for over 20 days. This year marks 22 years of weaning 12 weeks Av age and the last 14 years of weaning under 10 weeks. Barriers to adoption are? Laziness , shit fences, knowledge of ewe recovery, knowledge of GRs .. weaning do it!

Weaning last week. Like Tim Leeming it’s a common practice here. Would not miss it. These lambs off Mum for eight hours. Drench vacc. should of been weighed (scales broke).🐑🌱☘️
