Being a high school athletic trainer is not for the weak

It amazes me how late people wait to request an Athletic Trainer to cover an event. Like mam, sir, you do realize that's this weekend. You better add an "expedite" rate or top of that base pay.

Dear athletic trainers, As much as you care about and want to help others, you cannot solve everyone’s problems for them. You can provide assistance and resources, but at some point there is a level of personal responsibility that must be taken as well

I had an angry mom say to my face at a tournament style camp this weekend, “what’s the point of having a trainer if they don’t have tape and supplies?” Your kid’s coach was sent an email to provide your own tape and kit. But to answer your question…

I would cry tears of joy if I got a formal parking spot/sign 🥲

Athlete PSA: If you are feeling pain throughout out the week, month, etc, and come in thinking KT tape will magically fix it... It won't. The earlier you see an AT, the better so we can discover what works best for you!
