I am ending my advocacy to prevent child sexual abuse in Tasmania, not because the job is done, but because I am totally spent. If parents were going to mobilise they would have done so by now. The true character of a society is shown by how they treat the most vulnerable!

It is time to shut down LOUDfence Tasmania! If the wider community was going to mobilise to end child sexual abuse it would have done so by now! The cavalry is not coming!

Our first duty as a responsible adult is to keep kids safe. Still too often we see people prioritising politics, ideology, religious beliefs, careers, professional interests, reputations & other concerns over the safety and wellbeing of children to which we owe a duty of care.

Cohorts of dependent individuals are disturbingly, regularly abused. 'Good character' in one aspect of life does become irrelevant where that person willingly abuses dependents, by their power position: paedophilia; support worker coercion/violence; violence against older people

Child sexual abuse has been normalised in TAS since the convict era & family affiliations over generations in a small island State make it impossible for child protection laws to be enforced in an unfettered way. Truth is the beautiful apple isle is rotten to its colonial core!

Convict era acceptance of child sexual abuse persists in establishment circles in Tasmania & perhaps this is why it is proving so difficult to get Police interested in investigating credible information about paedophile rings like those reported to the Commission of Inquiry.
