I’ve never snowshoed so late in the season! There’s still SO MUCH SNOW in the Sierra, and yesterday was the perfect day to enjoy it with friends. The highlight was having a bald eagle fly right by us and land in a nearby tree…while we were on the Eagle Trail! 🦅

Snowshoeing Saturday, then climbing Sunday just 20 miles down the road from the epic snowpack. I think the #Fresno area is one of the most underrated places to live for outdoor fun. ☺️

Gave a talk at Fresno State today. I asked if anyone had been to one of my talks before, since I’d just spoken at the university a few weeks ago. 1 student raised their hand, said I gave a talk at their school IN 8TH GRADE. How have I lived here long enough for that? Time flies!

The Tower District now has a farmers market! Today is the grand opening, 5-9 PM. Check it out on Olive Ave. every Thursday.

Most of Yosemite Valley will close starting Friday, April 28, at 10 pm, due to a forecast of flooding. This closure will last until Wednesday, May 3—possibly longer. Additional flooding and closures may occur later in May or June. (1/4)

During this closure, Wawona, Mariposa Grove (via hike only), Crane Flat area, Hetch Hetchy, and western Yosemite Valley will be open. In Yosemite Valley, the closure will be at El Capitan crossover (the road that crosses the Merced River just east of El Capitan). (3/4)
