This is #HeraMission's view of Mars acquired yesterday, at 1.07 million km from the red planet, hurtling towards it at 9 km/s - acquired with its Asteroid Framing Camera. The north pole and other features clearly visible - closest approach comes at 13:51 CET today, images

What is #HeraMission seeing during its gravity-assist flyby of Mars? Initially its view centres on the vast Terra Arabia / Terra Sabaea plain, shifting south to heavily cratered highlands, passing into night beside the vast Hellas Basin, among the Solar System's largest impact

Our #HeraMission science team, including Dr. Brian May of Queen, were amazed as the first images came in from the spacecraft's gravity-assist flyby of Mars and martian moon Deimos - see why here: esa.int/Space_Safety/H…

What would Deimos look like to an astronaut in space around Mars? None of Hera's instruments are equivalent to the naked human eye, but here is the science team's first attempt. The 'saddle' between two peaks of Deimos shows up as a shadow

Luuucy, 'splain that if you can! The first images from the #LucyMission's asteroid Donaldjohanson flyby show an elongated contact binary shape, with an odd narrow neck between the two lobes. More data from Lucy will be analyzed in the coming weeks. go.nasa.gov/42mUZrJ

All aboard for asteroid Apophis! ESA's Ramses mission aims to rendezvous with the asteroid Apophis as it passes Earth in 2029. Ramses will deploy a CubeSat led by emxys team just a few kilometres from the surface of the asteroid to study it up close. esa.int/Space_Safety/P…

ESA's Hera mission has spotted its first asteroids! Hera is on the way to the Didymos binary asteroid system to explore the aftermath of humankind's first attempt to move an asteroid. Though faint, these observations are very encouraging for the performance of Hera's camera.
