Been thinking about different definitions of a “successful career”. What target do you have that if you achieve, you can retire feeling like your career was a success?

Seems like lots of options:
- work 40 hr/wk
- have Y impact
- enjoy going to work
- publish X papers
Etc

This super thorough paper uses multiple natural experiments + incredible administrative data to measure how sealing criminal records affects employment (FCRA rules and Clean Slate policies). Punchline: if you care about this issue, it's probably time to look for other options.

You can check me out today on CNN talking about how food insecurity has been going up for working-aged families recently, and it's now AS HIGH as it was in the first few months of the pandemic
