First week in the archives in 2024 and this is my favourite finding. An encripted letter sent from the Medici Ambassador in Naples to Florence. #Archives #ambassadors #informationstudies

I had the pleasure of reading this when it was just a dissertation and then follow the progress until it became and excellent book. A thoughtful and extraordinaryly well researched journey through the history of alchemy in the last two centuries.

As someone who does (and teaches) bibliography, I care about whose labour is credited in the process of making and describing a book. We can use queer approaches to do this more accurately and inclusively, and you can read my piece in PBSA about it now! journals.uchicago.edu/doi/abs/10.108…

Summer in Italy means working on the slides for the next Universal Short Title Catalogue (USTC) 📖🔍 conference from my balcony to escape the heat. I have quite a few interesting print that I found in archives that I can't wait to show! #ustc #academiclife #ASF #printinarchive

Do you ever find something completely unrelated to your research that sparks the desire for a side quest? I am now extremely invested in the matrimonial woes of the Princess of Pallagorio. She is not wrong, nobody wants to live with their mother in law.

It’s out! Today is publication day for Gender and the Book Trades, from the conference of the same name in June 2021. Huge thanks to everyone who contributed and read drafts of this behemoth's xxii + 492 pages. We are so proud of it and hope you enjoy. brill.com/edcollbook/tit…
