Suicide is a leading cause of death among AAPI youth. Suicide planning rose among AAPI youth by over 20% from 2008 to 2018 (source: SAMHSA).

In our own Belmont schools, 10% of Asian American middle school and high school students reported making a suicide plan. 1/3
