I’ve seen a few thick-thighed flower beetles popping up on my timeline now, so here’s one of mine from the other day. Odemera nobilis. It’s only the males that have those chonky thighs. OM SYSTEM Cameras BBC Wildlife #BBCWildlifePOTD

My new favourite thing - glow worms! #insectweek A brilliant guided walk last night in Kippax organised by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Glow worms are actually beetles and the females give off this bright green light to attract males.

Back home after a fantastic week guiding for Greenwings in Bulgaria. The participants seemed to get involved with my love for robber flies of which there were many!
