Seemingly small detail, but compare this with the first phase of the genocide & IDF confidently and unveiled documenting their own atrocities

Looking for good texts showing how things like nationalism, class consciousness etc are reflected in cultural production (music, popular literature...) in the Middle East context. For example: aspects of Arab nationalism in Umm Kulthum's lyrics or something in this direction...

Fathi Ghabin's 1980 painting "Identity," one of his great works, was pulled from the rubble of his home in Gaza. Ghabin died in February 2024 from respiratory illness. The Israelis prevented his evacuation from the Strip, where life-saving oxygen was scarce.

As I reported yesterday the PKK has announced it is withdrawing its last remaining forces from Turkey. The group says the government must now take legal steps to prove it is sincere about solving the Kurdish issue. These would cover amnesty for eligible fighters including Ocalan.

I've only read the introduction so far, but this is already so good! It will also be really helpful for my own work & the question of how to conceptualise leftist intellectual production in 60s-80s Beirut and beyond

Question for the Fanonians: who has written something good on the role of culture, literature & intellectuals in Fanon's thought?
