Lying in bed eating the chocolate seashells my PIP paid for. I work 26-30 hours a week but I specifically made sure my PIP paid for these

What people don’t realise is that this stirring up of hate towards disabled people doesn’t just play out at the ballot box. It’s in streets, estates and tower blocks across the country where people no longer feel as safe to go out, start to self-harm, and contemplate suicide.

It’s probably HARDER to get PIP for mental health now than it used to be. Why? Because anyone near the system knows you have to be so ill, mad or traumatised to get any care — and therefore the medical evidence you’d need to even have a chance at PIP. #CareNotCuts

Neda lives in Afghanistan and is 11. School has stopped for her as it has for all girls but she is educating herself online, mostly in English. She comes to my poetry class. She has grand plans.

Very sad to be told student midwives have received emails from universities telling them not to speak to me or other media about this story. Just to repeat - any student midwife can contact me and no one will know. I will protect your identity.

In February I went and stood on a multi story car park and the only reason I didn’t jump is that I wasn’t sure if it was high enough. Caused by PIP and the sheer stress of the process and the assessors lying and all but calling me a liar for struggles I’ve had my whole life.

Dr Jay Watts The hostile environment created around welfare makes it feel like someone is always watching. The public are primed to blame people on benefits for their own discontent and people on benefits are primed to live lives of shame, guilt and worthlessness.

In 2006 there were 167,000 NHS England hospital beds Now there are 130,000 In 2006 there were 33,000 GPs Now there are 28,000 But sure, the problem is the “NHS model”, and sure, Reform’s insurance based model will sort it. Ps. I have some magic beans for sale

We were promised 'cheaper food after Brexit'. It now costs £5 for a bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk, £8 for a jar of Nescafe and £12 for a bottle of olive oil.

It’s hard not to grieve the NHS What we have lost as a nation What we’ve lost as a profession I remember what it was like 20 yrs ago - probably the best health service in the world We need a government who wants what’s best for the public: a well funded NHS!
