It’s been lovely welcoming our new pupils, as well as our returning pupils. Classes have been busy getting to know one another and we are excited to share the learning at Langlands this year. Linthaugh class have started to decorate a banner to put their own stamp on their room

The pupils in Langton class have been using Tobii Dynavox® TD Snap to help them write their weekend news. They are given the opportunity to explore the different pages and can use the keyboard to search for words. Great work, Langton.

Braidcraft class have been making owls to put on the birthday tree in the class so that they know when to celebrate everyone’s birthday. The pupils engaged well and are increasingly independent in pressing down the tissue paper. Well done, everyone!

Towerside class used the parachute to work on directional language today. As you can see, everyone had lots of fun and lots of practice of 'under'!

We were very sad to say goodbye to Susan today. Susan has been in charge of the kitchen at our campus for many years and has been so accommodating of our children’s dietary requirements. We wish her all the best for her retirement.

We’ve had a great day celebrating The Makaton Charity Awareness Day. We had a fun filled assembly, focussed on the theme of friendship and connection, with lots of singing, signing and dancing, a Makaton treasure hunt and some Makaton bingo in class.

Beltrees class were exploring some switch toys yesterday. Switches are a great way to make toys accessible to children with additional support needs.

Langton class started to look for the first signs of autumn on a walk around the school grounds today. They were all very focussed when they came back to class to complete their science activity.

Braidcraft class have been making self portraits using photographs of their faces and wool. The adapted scissors allow pupils to participate in cutting things as independently as possible, and it’s great to see some of the children able to pick out their own facial features!

Thank you to Richard Cairney Glasgow CREATE for the great music sessions each week. The children engage so well with Richard and the instruments and it’s great to see everyone grow in confidence. We’re excited to see what fruit or veg is on Richard’s shirt next week!

Fiona, our visiting yoga specialist joined us today. The children love joining in and copying the moves. They especially love feeling the vibrations on Fiona’s cheeks when she is doing her buzzy beee breathing.

Linthaugh have 2 new friends - Mr Munch and Number Norma - to help them learn numbers and letters. They used the Bitsboard app to help trace the numbers and letters with hand under hand support from staff, giving the children control over their hand movements.
