Langford’s SY22 Open House / State of the School Address was a BLAST! Parents, scholars, and staff in partnership our number one priority to meet the needs of the whole child👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Langford’s On-Track Winter Wonderland Sneaker Ball was an enjoyable time for our scholars. We are grateful to Children’s First Fund for providing a Christmas gift to each one of our scholars. They provided a glow and excitement to all of our scholars.

We had a blast today on this MAGNIFICENT Monday! Happy Valentine’s Day🌹🥰 The staff and scholars had raffles, scholars had their classrooms transformed into an elegant restaurant scenery and was served breakfast, scholars also engaged in a Valentine’s Day dance. Go Mighty Lions!

Langford’s 100 day of school and 2-22-22 events. Scholars created 100 day hats, engaged in fitness challenge of different activities for 100 seconds, created 100 Day t-shirts, dressed up as 100 year old people. For the TWOSDAY event 2-22-22 scholars had a Tuesday Talent show. 🤗

Our Pre-K through 3rd grade scholars hosted an African American wax museum today in the hallway for other grade levels to come through and visit as a gallery walk. Scholars dressed as the African American historian that they researched and gave a speech about. It was exciting!!!

Today was indeed a FANTASTIC FRIDAY at Langford Academy 🤗 Scholars and Staff engaged in a Mardi Gras second line school-wide parade throughout the entire building after they engaged in a feast of NEW ORLEANS style food, made masks, and bracelets. We also had Chiro One Wellness🎉

Langford Continued READ ACROSS AMERICA for the second week. Kicked off Spirit Week, scholars were able to dress as their favorite 🤩 super hero 🦸‍♀️ or character in a story today. The halls are decked with Dr. Seuss characters and balloons hanging from the ceiling. It’s been GREAT

We had a GREAT evening 🤗🤗🤗 We took our scholars, their parents, and the staff to the Bulls game this evening “Bulls vs Raptors” of which the Bulls won 113 to 99 YAYYY 👏🏽 They announced our school and showed it on the screen. This was truly a FUN 🤩 and rememberable event.

Our Academic Bowl was a Hit 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 our student council ROCKS, they suggested this event at the beginning of the month and we made it happen. They were excited and engaged. This event was AWESOME, it helped to reinforce the learning that has been taking place in the classroom.

Assistant Principal Appreciation has been a JOY for Langford. I want to thank my partner in instructional leadership Mr. Delman Doss again for engaging in work worth doing for our scholars, staff, and villagers. We work as a team with no “I” but we, us, and our💪🏾 You’re the BEST!

Scholars engaged in the Nick Cannon Wild’N Out event with two teams that competed to win the championship belt. Scholars engaged in the, in the classroom and family reunion skit from the show as well as a trivia quest task to win the belt. Scholar had an AWESOME time. 👏🏽

Today scholars participated in an afterschool Glow Party with a Silent Party dj with the headphones that glow to support the event. The event was implemented in an effort to support attendance and on-track metrics. Scholar had a GREAT time. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Langford scholars and staff celebrated our phenomenal clerk Ms. Childs today for Administrative Professional Day! We appreciate ALL that you do, ALL that you have done, and ALL that you continue to do! 👏🏽👏🏽🤗🥰

Our primary scholars engaged in their Wax Museum presentations this week, the event was PHENOMENAL! Scholars dressed the part and knew their research about the African American they selected to represent. I’m with Mae Jemison😊 the astronaut.

This is my “WHY” for the work that I do, to see the JOY and knowledge that scholars receive each day that they come to school. My Super Power is the ability to cultivate GREATNESS within our scholars, staff, and villagers 🙏🏽💪🏾😊🙌🏽 Our Mighty Lions Team are UNSTOPPABLE 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Career Day was MAGNIFICENT today at Langford Academy. Scholars and staff thoroughly enjoyed the event, and our professionals that came out to support making Career Day a success. Making connections for scholars, providing them with exposure, and experiences is the key.
