For this artwork, I created my own light tool disc, fashioned from an old rubber washing machine pipe and some colourful finger lights. Oh!…and plenty of tape. Later, using Photoshop, I manipulated the shot and drew layers of semitransparent digital brustrokes on top.

Made by using a combination of long exposure, light painting photography and digital art techniques. The idea is to treat the work like a kind of automatic drawing, where I don’t have a resulting image in mind until it reveals itself to me near the end.

Last night, Donna, the kids and I saw Foo Fighters perform in Glasgow. One of our favourite bands, the gig was superb. Here’s an artwork I made of #DaveGrohl back in 2020, based on the throne he had made for tour back when he broke his leg, but covid themed.

Thank you to Lecturer Michael Agnew at Gray's School of Art for giving our art students a tour of the art school & sharing information about courses. We also had the chance to meet up with former West Lothian College art students, see work on display & speak with final year students.
