Owls have enjoyed brightening up the garden by helping to plant some flowers. We also looked at an apple tree where we each picked an apple to take home by twisting and pulling. Ashbridge Land Studies #gardening

In the Garden, we have been planting some seeds in the hopes of growing some raddishes. We are keeping our fingers crossed that they will grow so that we can take them home to eat.

It's always worth looking closely when you walk around the garden, you never know what you might find....,,,,🕸️🐝👀

This week year 3 worked through the Rhubarb beds weeding and removing debris. We learnt that we don't harvest at this time of the year so that the Rhubarb can build up energy stores to make it through winter and allow it to produce well next year. @RHSSchools Year 3 Ashbridge

We have been to the garden to look and the different fruit and vegetables that we grow. We picked some for snack time and for our chickens.

Badgers went to the garden this morning and picked our own fruit to make smoothies. We picked cranberrys, raspberries and blackberries, washed them then made a delicious smoothie with them Ashbridge Land Studies Ashbridge School #smoothies

The children from years 1 & 2 worked incredibly hard this week to remove the clippings from our wildflower meadow. We learnt that this is part of the meadows maintenance program to allow the more desirable species to flourish next year. Year 1 Year 2 at Ashbridge @RHSSchools

We have been taking Rosemary cuttings and using rooting powder to grow new plants.

Owls have been busy today learning about spider plants, how to cut a baby plant from the parent plant and pot it up. In two weeks Owls will be able to take their own plant home.#gardening #spiderplants Ashbridge Land Studies

The Upper Juniors have been carefully planting Garlic and Onions this week. We made pathways within the raised bed to help with planting and weeding and then planted out taking into consideration the spacing needed between each plant @bolton_deborah @RHSSchools

In the garden this week years 1 & 2 removed all the unwanted plant material from one of our raised beds. We learnt that getting the roots out is very important! What an amazing end result Year 1 Year 2 at Ashbridge @RHSSchools #gardening

Hedgehogs planted Daffodil bulbs this morning. We are going to take our bulbs home and nurture them till they are ready to bloom in the spring. 🌿 Ashbridge Land Studies

Year 4 completed their herb garden this week. First of all we cleared the raised bed and then discussed with our head chef what herbs would be useful for cooking with.We also considered height and spread of each herb when planting🌿 Mrs Livesey Y4 @RHSSchools #herbs
