I saw this whiptail lizard on a short walk in Wimberley today. It was pretty big and luckily didn’t seem to mind getting its picture taken. Texas Parks & Wildlife U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service NikonUSA
My first sighting of the Painted Bunting this year! It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve caught a glimpse of these beautiful creatures, it’s always exciting. Texas Parks & Wildlife NikonUSA U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service @HoustonAudubon USFWS Migratory Birds
Went to Patsy Glenn Refuge in Wimberley, TX. this weekend. In the shadows I saw this Summer Tanager. I thought the natural light made it look “artsy.” Beautiful bird. Texas Parks & Wildlife @HoustonAudubon USFWS Migratory Birds U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
This is a lifer for me. The Canada warbler summers in Canada and northeastern United States and winters in northern South America. He just happened to stop by Guadalupe River State Park for a visit. Beautiful! Texas State Parks Texas Parks & Wildlife @HoustonAudubon NikonUSA USFWS Migratory Birds U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
What a great time at Guadelupe River State Park! Though the Yellow Warbler is one of the most numerous warblers in North America, it’s only the second time I’ve seen one. Beautiful bird. This is a first! First time to see the Wilson’s Warbler, and it was at one of my favorite parks, Crescent Bend Nature Park. Did you know Wilson’s warblers are one of the smallest warblers weighing less than half an ounce? Texas Parks & Wildlife USFWS Migratory Birds @HoustonAudubon U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service #birds
It was pretty hot in the Texas hill country yesterday. At least this poor grey fox thought so at Pedernales Falls State Park. I love these beautiful animals. Texas State Parks Texas Parks & Wildlife
