Today I joined with Peterborough Positive for a business tour in Peterborough city centre with our senior police team. The Government’s Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee means more police officers - and I want to make sure we start with extra police in the city centre.

39 pilots & crew have lost their lives over Thorney since 1941. It was a privilege to join the service today to commemorate them. Today was a moment to unveil a new memorial, bring the community together & say a prayer.

Some of my highlights from this week: ✅ Welcomed Thomas Deacon Academy students to Parliament ✅ Met with police & businesses about more officers in city centre ✅ Promoted my Bill on community housing ✅ Spoke about importance of apprenticeships ✅ Thorney air memorial

A positive reply today from the Chief Constable to my call for more police in Peterborough City Centre. This is important for the city, businesses & residents. The Government's Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee will mean more officers for the city.

I was really pleased to put on record in Parliament my thanks to the staff at Fulbridge Academy and to thank Bridget Phillipson for visiting this week. It is great news they are one of the pilots for new school-based nurseries

Great news for Peterborough today 💪 National Gas has announced £350 million investment in UK with major upgrade to Werrington site. ✅ 1,000 jobs across UK, at least 100 in Peterborough ✅ Hydrogen ready network ✅ Peterborough as a clean energy hub

Over a million bus journeys have been taken by young people using the Tiger Pass. Better buses for everyone, better connections for young people. The Tiger Pass and bus funding is at risk if the Tories win the Mayor next month. Labour’s Anna4Labour will protect it.

£1 bus fares for young people & Tiger Pass here to stay - clear message from Anna4Labour at Citizens Peterborough event today. Tory candidate much more evasive and refused to back £1 fares. Cheaper fares with Labour, higher fares with the Tories.
