In genetic engineering, "high throughput" is really the name of the game. for startups, it's "go fast & break stuff" (right?). One thing that totally blew my mind was this instrument, the Echo 525 from Labcyte Inc.. It uses acoustics to transfer picoliter droplets between plates.
