Bringing aptamer biosensors to the clinic is no small feat. Vincent Clark & team designed an aptamer binding emtricitabine (key in HIV prevention). Partnering with the CDC HIV labs, we show high-throughput screening to monitor treatment adherence. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ad…

💊Whole brain homogenate is often used to measure drug penetration, but the brain isn’t uniform!🧠 In a study led by Dr. Karen Scida we show drug uptake & distribution kinetics vary across brain regions. pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10… #DrugDiscovery #Neuroscience #Pharmacokinetics

Many students I talk to feel alone in their stress and uncertainty about academia. But they’re not. Sharing our stories can be healing, for us and for others. In this editorial, I reflect on the challenges and lessons from building my research career: 🔗iopscience.iop.org/article/10.114…

Excited to share new work with David Jenkins on NHC monolayers for biosensing! Phattananawee Nalaoh & Vincent Clark show aptamer-clicking to NHCs is possible. Still facing capacitive & peroxide issues but stronger gold bonding is a big step forward! pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…
