It’s Deaf Awareness Month! Did you know that the appropriate modern term to refer to deaf and hard of hearing people is exactly that-deaf and hard of hearing! To include others in our community, you can say Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and hard of hearing.

When people think of “Deaf people,” they may think of some well-known Deaf faces, such as Marlee Matlin and Nyle DiMarco. But have you heard of performers and creators Chella Mann, Joseph Sarpy, or Lauren Ridloff? Google these people and check out their work! #deafawarenessmonth
