Great to see the Outdoors for All Act pass as part of the EXPLORE Act! This bill will codify the #LWCF -funded Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) program, allow tribes to directly apply for ORLP funding & expand eligibility to more communities across the country!

In January 2024, Gov. JB Pritzker & the Illinois Department of Natural Resources announced 8 local park grants totaling $2.4M from the #LWCF State & Local Assistance Program:

Douma Park in NW Iowa, includes a 10-acre fishing & swimming pond. An investment from #LWCF through the State & Local Assistance Program in 2019 was used to renovate the park & update it to accommodate the increased demand for outdoor recreation spaces.

Substantial #LWCF investments have protected land & water in Illinois & Iowa. Over the next month, we are going to spotlight a sample of #LWCF projects in these states. Thanks to the Great American Outdoors Act, #LWCF can continue to invest in IL & IA.
