I adapted Mike Szydlowski’s snowball fight for 1st grade! During Fundations, every word the kids read or spelled correctly they got a piece of paper. Ran out of white paper (hooray for spelling words correctly!) so we had to use yellow “snow”…made us laugh! 😁 Locust Street Expressive Arts
Ss showed their gratitude for items in our classroom by giving them air hugs. We had beautiful discussions about how students get to school and what classrooms look like around the world (links). Locust Street Expressive Arts #cpsbest insider.com/school-classro… boredpanda.com/dangerous-jour…
We added a puppet theater to our stations! One reader practices fluency by reading a book, the other reader practices comprehension by listening to the story and acting it out. So fun!! Locust Street Expressive Arts #CPSgrowsreaders
