The tories promised to abolish no-fault eviction #OnThisDay five years ago.
Five years later, Michael Gove is still more interested in his landlord mates than the rights of 11 million renters.
It's time to kick out the elite landlord lobby and put renters first.
Only city-wide rent controls can end the cycle of insecurity trapping London's 3 million renters.

Scottish Gov finally published their bill to introduce permanent rent controls.
Massive congrats to Living Rent for their years of tireless organising. Full solidarity for their continued fight to get the rent controls tenants need.
We can win them here if we get organised✊🏾
Laws that protect renters don't go far enough, which makes it horrible when laws that do exist aren't enforced - landlords who ignore minimum safety standards can't revenge evict renters who call them out on it!
Lewisham Council
- what you're doing makes all renters less safe.
🚨 Lewisham Council why are you siding with a landlord who has form in breaking licence conditions and attempting revenge evictions?
Issue an Improvement Notice! Stop Magdalena's eviction and show us that you take your responsibilities to renters in Lewisham seriously.
.Lewisham Labour This was your promise in 2022. Our member Magdalena is facing a revenge eviction next week.
Lewisham Council is aware the landlord previously breached his licence conditions and has attempted a revenge eviction before.
Still no Improvement Notice!! 😡😡
We are at Lewisham Council with a member who is facing a revenge eviction.
We have been outside for 45 minutes and no one has come down.
The council failed to apply enforcement on the landlord.
This is appalling.
'My pay rise is the same as my rent increase.'
Teachers & support staff fought tooth & nail for a pay rise. But our rigged housing system means, for many, that money went straight into their landlord's pockets.
