Sports day practise has been in full swing here in Year 5 so that we are ready for next Tuesday! Here is a sneak peak at the teams practising Tennis ball pick up! 🎾

What a fantastic start to sports day with our field events! The children took part in javelin, long jump, tennis ball pick up and beanbag throw! Great team spirit with very close scores! 🏅🔴🟡🟢🔵

We then took part in the track events. The children were brilliant and ran superbly! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

This morning,we had a Masters Coaching in to show us lots of different and exciting sports. In our house teams, we took part in archery, frisbee golf, nerf target shooting and golf. They thoroughly enjoyed trying the new sports and mentioned they would like to do it again! 🎯⛳️🥏

Raffle tickets will be coming home in a weeks time (inside the brown bags), make sure you get yours as we have fantastic prizes including a top prize of a Nintendo Switch OLED as well as a whole load of other goodies!

So proud of the Year 5 Boys at the North Somerset Boys netball competition that took place earlier this week. They worked as a team and showed great sportsmanship. They also won all of their games demonstrating brilliant skill! Well done Boys! You were fab! 🏀

In History, we have been applying our oracy skills by becoming Viking Traders! We used a traverse to give a 30 second persuasive speech to our partners to barter a price for our Viking goods! There were some very persuasive speeches and even some purchases were made! 💎🧥🗡️🪙

Last week, we had a visit from a parent who very kindly talked about their job as a police officer. We learnt about the role of a police officer and PCSO, different age restrictions and some of the different equipment police officers use! The children thoroughly enjoyed it! 🚓🚨

What a lovely last day! We have played board games, party games and watched “ The Wild Robot” movie with lots of cinema treats! Thank you Year 5 for a wonderful year, you will be fantastic Year 6s! And thank you to our wonderful families for their generosity and support! 🎲🎉🎬🍿
