Is there a word like ‘petrachor’ for the green mist of opening leaf buds in a spring woodland? It’s when winter is definitely over.

Most people were at Kew to see the fabulous Sakura cherry blossom - but Morus Londinium was looking for mulberries - two sadly lost last year. Read more here:

The Red mulberry (Morus rubra) has never done well outside its Native North American east coast. A semi mature specimen at Kew Gardens didn’t survive. Let’s hope this young scion does better. Buds more advanced than a nearby Black mulberry.
