Not only will voters decide between two presidential candidates who have vastly different views on how to address the housing crisis, they’ll also weigh in on dozens of housing-related ballot measures. Here's a scan of the measures in each state: shelterforce.org/2024/10/31/hou…

Something to ponder as you head out to vote today, for free. In the Library's Rosa Parks Papers collection, there's a receipt for the poll tax she had to pay to vote in Alabama in 1956. Poll taxes, a Jim Crow-era voter suppression tool, were not abolished federally until 1964.

How well do the presidential candidates’ proposals address the growing housing crisis? Housing advocacy groups share their thoughts and criticisms of the plans (or lack thereof). bit.ly/4exvzL3

I'm keeping on eye on these, especially the measures in California, New Orleans, Hoboken (NJ), and North Dakota. #Election2024

So sad to see that The Center for Public Integrity, where I spent 3.5 years, is folding. Someone sent me a link to the page last week. After I inquired about preserving the site, the page was taken down. Transparency has never been a hallmark by the power there. Tons of lessons for nonprofits

We're heading toward a partial government shutdown if the Senate fails to pass a continuing resolution (CR). But if the current CR passes, critical housing assistance programs will face significant cuts. bit.ly/3DSYlsW
