We are proud of the progress that our engineering teams are making on the Polihali Transfer Tunnel, and other components of Phase II. The Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), that will excavate the 38km tunnel connecting Polihali and Katse Dam is slated to arrive at site soon.

Leading up to the 6-month maintenance that we will do in the LHWP tunnels from October 2024 to March 2025; our contractor has the following opportunities available.

Elated to celebrate this huge milestone in the Polihali tunnel construction, the successful breakthrough of the upper intake tunnel into the lower intake tunnel, after seven months of excavation. Congratulations to the dedicated teams on the tunnel project! #EngineeringExcellence

Tonight, we are finally unloading critical components of the Tunnel Boring Machine at the port in Durban. Soon, these will be convoyed to Lesotho and to site through the Caledonspoort border. Excited to keep sharing updates of this massive journey! #LHDA #LHWPII
