We've just received clarification of what happened to Peter Ibison, the #Speyside100 entrant who was still out on the route after the cut-off. He was given a lift back to HQ, but his tracker showed that he had actually walked 100 miles - so he was credited with a completion 🙂

The Birmingham Canal Canter took a break in 2023 because the organisers were busy with the #EBB100, but it's back with a bang this year. For anyone suffering from EBB withdrawal, the BCC uses the same HQ and about 10 miles of the same route, albeit in the opposite direction.

Locals on Billesley Common, having been informed that the two BCC routes are "only" 26 and 18 miles: "We saw people leaving here on Saturday morning then staggering back on Sunday after walking 100 miles". The #EBB100 is clearly going to live long in the memory...

The footbridge over Haunch Brook at the start/end of the #EBB100 route was destroyed in a storm a few weeks after the event (good job for us it didn't happen before!). Thanks to Awards for All for funding its replacement, and the Friends of Billesley Common for installing it.

While some people on this platform are trying to lead others down wrong paths, our mission is to help everyone find good ones.

The link between the LDWA and cake is well-known, although this particular one wasn't made by us - but by supporters of one of the entrants, celebrating his completion of his 100th marathon. Congratulations Clive, and thanks for the lovely cake!

We cannot begin to describe the anou y of work undertaken by our Pathcare team to clear a path near St Arvans. It's taken 2 visits and we've had 6 people working on both those days. It's been a huge job. But, the path is now clear and signposted. Ramblers Cymru 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 The Long Distance Walkers Association

Our collaboration with Railwalks is going well - one of our members has connected every station in central London. Most walks are fairly short for the obvious reason that the stations are close together, but you can always join them up - a full circuit would be about 15 miles.

I had a chance encounter with a stranger this week, and I want to tell you guys about it.... Monday just gone, I had just filled the tractor up with diesel, changed metal on the cultivator and heading out the yard to get on with the day. There is a footpath that runs through

Not one of our own events - the Bullock Smithy Hike is run by the local Scouts group - but very much in the same spirit, and it counts as a qualifier for our next 100. Well done!
