I am incarcerated. Yes, I have done wrong in the eyes of the law. However, that does not define my character or personality. Questions? Just ask.

When someone is given a sentence, how is the sentence decided? The jury comes up with the verdict, but who decides the punishment that fits the crime and how? Do you think 26 years is enough? Help free a changed man. #FreeKevinYoung

If you Truly Love or Care about an individual, their current situation should not change that. You will help them through whatever it is. Everyone deserves a chance to make things Right. #FreeKevinYoung

1) To all that is willing to listen, share input, help the cause or simply curious, I want to thank you for your time and energy. The issue at hand effects hundreds of incarcerated men/women, thousands of family members and friends. The Oregon Constitution is being Violated.

2) This ONE VIOLATION has been happening since 1989. Yes, for that long the citizens of Oregon has been lied to and on. In 1989, the Legislators decided to make changes to the sentencing guide lines. I will give them credit, they tried their best.

3) The changes finally allowed the guilty to be fairly sentenced according to his/her criminal history. However, when they added the option of LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE for the crime of Aggravated Murder, a direct conflict of the Oregon Constitution was created.

4) Once again giving them credit, all the neccessary House Bills and Senate Bills (for the changes to the sentencing guidelines) were voted on and approved by the citizens of Oregon.

5) When it came to amending the Oregon Constitution Article 1, Section 40 the good citizens of Oregon never got a chance to vote. Sure, a House/Senate Bill was produced but NEVER PRESENTED.

6) The Constitution was never amended. This change was so un-popular it got no support from others. So, a few people sat in chambers sipping coffee, sharing opinions about another's future.

7) The State continues hiding behind the courts to protect it's own. Sadly enough, there are far too many attorneys pretending to fight for justice but in reality they are seeking a higher position by keeping the oppressed down.

8) For all that I have written, don't take my word for it. Research this yourself. Log on to The Oregon Constitution, read Article 1, Section 40. Tell me, when you read anything about LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE.

8) Read the minutes from: Senate Committee on the Judiciary June 22, 1989 pages 12-17 Again, thank you for your time. #FreeKevinYoung
