We started the week in #Mykolaiv , where we visited the ‘unbreakable bakery’: a woman-run business whose contract with World Food Programme helped it stay open through the war. Every day, this bakery produces 60,000 loaves of bread that help us feed thousands of people in the region.

While in #Kyiv , DED met with 🇺🇦Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Solskyi to discuss World Food Programme’s wider support to the agricultural sector ­­and upcoming harvests. So far, we have bought food from Ukrainian farmers for more than US$300 million - and this remains a priority this year.

And that’s a wrap: sending our World Food Programme Deputy Executive Director, Ramiro Lopes da Silva, back to HQ after one great week of missions & exchanges with 🇺🇦 authorities to confirm and reiterate WFP’s commitment to continue supporting the Ukrainian people with food & cash assistance! 🇺🇳
