Columbia University’s president strongly denounced antisemitism during a congressional hearing Wednesday amid criticism of the school's handling of rising tensions on campus in the wake of the Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

Columbia Univ students wearing “Gaza” stickers have been standing outside the House Committee on Education & the Workforce hearing on antisemitism asking why they can’t go in. The audience section is already full.

Every time the hearing room door opens they yell to let students in.

There is a long line of people in the hallway still hoping to get a seat in the hearing room but all seats are filled.

From inside the room, you can hear one person yelling: “I’m a Columbia student who came from NY, let me in!”

Happening now: Columbia University President Dr. Shafik is testifying before the House Committee on Education & the Workforce on the university’s response to antisemitism on campus.

Rep. Massie says 'there's no red lines here' when I asked if Speaker Johnson's NO vote on the warrant amendment in the FISA bill was a fireable offense.

'I just think he lost a lot of capital with that vote.'

The House has passed the rule necessary to move forward with reauthorizing Section 702 of FISA. This was a party line vote, 213-208, as rule votes typically go in the House.

It comes two days after 19 Republicans revolted against GOP leaders by blocking a previous rule.

Henry Clay was elected speaker in his very first term in the House.
