Tetanus doesn’t come from rusty objects directly. It’s from spores in soil and human/animal feces. Rusty objects are often found in places with these exposures. Tetanus is a bad way to die. Get vaccinated prior. Otherwise, do so at time of injury. It’s not worth the risk.

Two things that will make me love working with an ER nurse:

1. Updating me after placing a patient on O2.

2. Encouraging patients to provide a urine sample asap.
