This rhetoric is alarming.

We have heard stories of sick individuals on dairy farms being scared to get tested for #H5N1 . Many are migrant workers, and fear of deportation may deter them from getting tested or seeking medical care.

Why is anyone surprised that he would say this.

He said the same thing before the 2020 #presidential #election , and we all remember what happened on January 6 2021.

Why does anyone think it will be different in 2024

I have mixed feelings on this

On one hand drinking raw milk ⬆️’s the risk of various infections, & with the news of #H5N1 in milk we need to be concerned

On the other hand, “forbidding” something isn’t going to prevent it from happening & could lead to more distrust.

Not only could doing so put you are risk for #H5N1 but you are also at risk for #Campylobacter , #Salmonella , #Brucella , #Listeria and many other infectious diseases which cause severe disease of death.

I was worried about this happening with the #H5N1 virus and days ago said we needed to develop
- a larger arsenal of therapeutics
- next generation vaccines
- rapid diagnostics that can be used at home

we observe, measure, analyse, conclude, and hopefully that conclusion is: not a big risk. But if it were a big risk, we would be too late already. The fundamental question is, are we able and willing to prevent pandemics. I think technically we can, but societally probably not.

Something is going on in #Amarillo an area of #Texas known for agriculture.

Unusual to see this much #Influenza at this time of year. Would be helpful to understand what is going on and if this could be #H5N1

So many reasons not to drink raw #milk .

Not only is there a concern over #H5N1 in the milk supply, but it can lead to things like Bruella, Listeria, Campylobacter, Salmonella and others.

All of these infections can cause serious illness and death.

Please just say no!
