My latest on the burning crisis that must shape any 🇺🇸 deal w Putin: 🇺🇦's stolen children. The US must never legitimize Russia's illegal occupation- or risk erasing the crime of mass child abductions. America must use its power to protect, not help 🇷🇺 captors rewrite the law.

This question about “redrawing maps” is an absolute devaluation of the suffering endured by Ukrainians under 🇷🇺occupation I am from the Kharkiv region myself, and I remember very well the number of civilians who were tortured and buried in just one forest near Izium in 2022

Russia’s abduction of Ukraine’s children is an international crime—a crime against all of us. Their rescue is our shared adult responsibility. Their legal protection is one of the many reasons why the US must never legitimize territory stolen by Russia. nationalinterest.org/feature/trumps…

Russia’s occupation of Ukrainian land cannot be divorced from their treatment of the people there. Conservative UK lawmakers used the term “concentration camps” to describe the facilities where Ukraine’s abducted children & civilians are held in Crimea. telegraph.co.uk/world-news/202…

Each of Ukraine’s 20,000 stolen children are the eyewitness to a war crime. Now that they’re on the Trump administration’s radar, will it help get them back from Russia? My latest. meduza.io/en/feature/202… Meduza in English

Russian Occupation Update, September 16, 2025: Ukrainian experts confirmed that Russia has forcibly removed and deported upwards of 11,000 Ukrainian children to re-education camps so far in 2025, although Russian officials’ own statements suggest the numbers could be even higher.

One of the most potent political statements in the NDAA is a provision that elevates the humanitarian crisis of abducted Ukrainian children to a core US national security mission.

According to the March 24, 2025 Russian Occupation Update, Ukraine has been able to verify Russia’s deportation of 19,456 children to date, although the true figure is likely to be much higher because Russia frequently targets vulnerable children without anyone to speak for them.

Every report that comes out about what Ukrainians living under Russian occupation endure is pure horror. Pure evil what Russia is doing to them. telegraph.co.uk/global-health/…

Putin has abducted more than 19,000 Ukrainian children—not by accident, but by design. A deliberate, calculated act of terror. Today, with Congressman Bill Keating, we introduced bipartisan legislation delivering a clear ultimatum: return these children or face the full weight of a State

We must never let footage of tiny children being carried out of schools bombed by Russia become normalized. One moment, learning their letters, the next, clinging to rescuers, confused, crying for their parents, and wiping dust from their faces. Bombed just for being Ukrainian.
