The Kodaikanal Solar Observatory is the oldest astronomical observatory in India. It is one of few solar observatories of the world which provides an opportunity to study long-term variations in the Sun's activity over a century scale. Established in the year 1899 it is managed

Repairs are ongoing, but there’s progress! 🔨 A flooding incident in November 2024 caused a data outage, but now some data from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory and full data from NASA’s Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph have been restored. More: go.nasa.gov/42JJPOn

Talent has no gender, but opportunities do. In the EU – only 34% of researchers are women. Our SheFigures report is clear: the gender gap is real. We need to change that—not because it’s fair, but because Europe’s future depends on it. See the report here europa.eu/!HtThX3

🔎 Curious about the 10 March 2022 #CME? We explored how the helicity budget of the source AR helps derive its magnetic field strength! Check out our #SolarOrbiter nugget: 🔗 cosmos.esa.int/web/solar-orbi… 📄 Read our paper: 🔗 aanda.org/articles/aa/ab… Thanks to #SWATNetProject!

No ❕the Sun was not responsible for the recent European power grid failure. I am a scientist specialising in solar physics and space weather. I should know. This is not even in the gray zone, we are absolutely certain #spaceweather had nothing to do with this.
